| Karen's titles include Advertising Executive, Radio Announcer, Instructor, Manager and Mom! Born in Toronto, Ontario, Karen went from a Nursing program to co-founder of a syndicated sports radio program she wrote and aired on Chum Radio and 27 other stations across Canada.
From here, she accepted a sales executive position with one of Toronto's largest advertising firms, Foot, Cone & Belding. She spent the next 20 years in the business, representing some of Canada's largest firms, such as Maple Leaf Foods, Kraft Foods, Zennith Electronics and Whistler Mountain. When she and her husband took a job transfer to Vancouver, BC in 1984 she worked with the Advertising Agency representing one of the provinces best known food institutions, White Spot Foods and loved it. However, after a couple of years she got itchy feet and wanted to branch out on her own again. She ran a number of independant promotions eventually moving back into the Corporate world with Holiday Inns and later Hampton Inns where she thrived as Sales Manager in the hospitality area. She also taught Advertising at Capilano University as part of the Business Management Program before becoming a mother to daughter Lauren. Karen has always had an interest in real estate, having bought and sold numerous properties over the years and secured her BC Real Estate License in 2002 and she's never looked back. She's worked with Remax and Royal LePage in West Vancouver, moving temporarily to Kelowna to work on the Westin Kelowna real estate project. Karen hit her stride however when she was asked to join the $1.2 Billion dollar Quigg Capella project at Bear Mountain on Vancouver Island in 2007. However, when the economy crashed in '08 and the project closed, she decided to remain in Victoria. Her in-laws had retired here and she always loved the area. She now calls Fernwood her home and considers this her last stomping ground. Karen's expertise extends to many areas of real estate. During her tenure in Kelowna, she invested her energies in securing her Candidate membership with the Appraisal Institute of Canada so she might better serve her Sellers when listing their homes and for buying homes for clients.
Karen also helped serve with the VREB committe, 'Advancing the Profession' where she worked with some of the city's top Realtors and had fun contributing her time and expertise to the group.
Karen loves real estate, but most of loves helping people live their dream!
